News: Tricycle, motorcycle union beg Jonathan to redeem 1,000 tricycles campaign promise

The ‘Keke’ and ‘Okada’ operators under the umbrella of National Commercial Tricycle and Motorcycle Owners and Riders Association, NACTOMORAS, have appealed to President Goodluck Jonathan to fulfil his campaign promise to the union before the expiration of his tenure.
Specifically, the union begged the President to redeem the 1,000 units of tricycle popularly known as ‘Keke’ which he promised during his presidential campaign in Lagos as part of his administration’s poverty alleviation scheme.
Making the plea in Abuja, Friday, President of NACTOMORAS, Alhaji Muh’d Sani Hassan said that the President could use the fulfilment of the promise as his parting gift to the union.
He explained that President Jonathan made the promise through Mr. Babajide Oluwasanmi which was also officially pronounced by the Minister of State, Foreign Affairs, Hon. Musiliu Obanikoro during the union’s national convention in Lagos.
Alhaji Hassan said that the union has saluted the courage of President Jonathan accepting the result of just concluded presidential election and also prayed for his successful handover to the incoming administration.
“We also pray for the incoming President-elect, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, (retd) to have a successful, peaceful and above all God’s guidance in his tenure for the good of the entire citizens of our great country, Nigeria.”
